Charity History
Love For Australia was established in 2012 with the aim of supporting those in financial crisis across various communities in Australia.
Initially, our focus was on supporting indigenous families in the Darug area and pensioners living in a retirement village in Stanhope Gardens NSW with essential groceries and household items.
Over time, our efforts expanded to help a broader range of people dealing with financial difficulties.
When the Windsor and Richmond floods struck in early 2020, we began distributing food boxes to those impacted. Subsequently, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020-2021, we began delivering groceries to families in isolation, operating out of our humble home.
Towards the end of 2021, as COVID-19 cases decreased and restrictions lifted, we began planning our next project. Recognising that not everyone may use or like everything in a pre-packed food box/hamper we decided to open the Love For Australia Store.
This store allows people to shop with dignity where customers can select the groceries they need, ultimately reducing food wastage.
The Love For Australia store officially opened its doors to the public on 1st January 2022, marking a new chapter in our journey of assisting those in need.

Founding Family
About the LEE Family
The Lee family had humble beginnings. Founders Esther & James migrated to Australia from Indonesia in 1981.
They experienced first hand the struggles that many individuals and families face when they are in financial crisis. They experienced the feelings of uncertainty, fear and worry of not being able to provide for their loved ones, not knowing where their next dollar would come from.
Having walked in these shoes and overcoming many of life's challenges, the Lee family committed to extending a hand of compassion and support to those who are facing similar challenges.
